The Valve Anti-Cheat System (VAC)

Because nobody likes playing with cheaters.
Playing games should be fun. In order to ensure the best possible online multiplayer experience, Valve developed a state-of-the-art anti-cheat system that automatically detects and permanently bans any player using cheats or hacks on a VAC secured server. What this means to you as a player is that you don't have to worry about annoying cheaters getting an unfair advantage and disrupting your game.
The Valve Anti-Cheat system is only enabled on servers with the secured shield logo and only Valve has the ability to VAC ban a user. While server admins may choose to ban players from playing on their specific servers, they do not have the ability to VAC ban players. The VAC system is automated and contacting Steam Support to report cheaters isn't necessary. Valve has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating and will not lift VAC bans under any circumstances.

Viliam "villiG" Andrascik has admitted that he used cheats in the open pre-qualifier for DreamHack Cluj.

Earlier on Saturday, the Counter-Strike community was surprised by the news that nerdRage's Viliam "villiG" Andrascik had been banned on FACEIT after beint caught cheating during a DreamHack Cluj qualifying match against PiTER.

Shortly afterwards, nerdRage announced that they were removing Andrascik from their active roster with immediate effect and stressed that they remained committed to the Counter-Strike scene.

Andrascik has now issued a statement to HLTV.org in which he confirms that he purchased cheat software on Friday has he hoped that it would help his team to qualify for the major. However, he was not able to properly set it up before the qualifier, which triggered FACEIT's anti-cheating client.

"The truth is, last night I bought an aimbot for the dreamhack qualifier in order to qualify or rather maximise the chances of qualifying for the major," Andrascik told HLTV.org.

"It was a really dumb move but a move I felt I had to make, as It was probably my last chance to go somewhere with cs and my team mate jOELZ has decided to not play the qualifier with us for no reason which put me under so much pressure to perform. I was getting really bored of playing the game 6 days a week and it was eating up too much time and controlling my life.

"I can also explain why it was detected, because I set it up 1 hour before the qualifier and had almost 0 idea of what I was doing. Ironically, in the end I ended up playing much worse as I was too paranoid to frag or do anything weird. I was 6-4 on the whole of ct side on cache which is amazing in my opinion :D.

"Regardless, I am sorry if I let anyone down, especially my team mates who deserve much better than being hated for my wrongdoing. If there is anyone you need to hate it's definately me and not them, because they are all amazing players.

"I also wanna apologise to nerdRage and their sponsors, they are an amazing group of people.

"Don't hate me too much, there are many others that are cheating in this qualifier :)."

Meanwhile, nerdRage have told HLTV.org that they have effectively parted ways with Andrascik, with more news about the organisation's CS:GO section due to come in the following weeks.

AREA banned by VAC [CS:GO]

He became a kind of urban myth since his first appearances in early 2013, Julien "AREA" Dubois has been VAC banned this thursday. This last has been known on CS:GO with Buykey where he shown an outstanding aim which has been much debated especially after the release of his movie “HS Story” which includes his greatest rounds during praccs against some of the best teams in the world. His level led to an offer from former LDLC, which he refused, claiming a lack of motivation. That fed suspicions about him.
