They are the UNSC Army's elite Special Operations Forces. They are well trained and very versatile light infantry. The 1P-ARG is skilled on a variety of skills and are able to be deployed anywhere.

The 1P-ARG is a rapid deployment force and is qualified in: Direct Action Raids, Light Assault, Airborne Assault, Air Assault, Special Reconnaissance, Conventional and Unconventional Warfare and many many more.

Rangers in the field wear armor similar to ODST Battle Armor. The ODST’s Helmet is traded in for the more Army-specific MJOLNIR/AA variant. Although the ODST Helmet is still acceptable for use.

The Army’s standard MA37 Assault Rifle was found short-enough for their use. Although some Rangers still opt out for the MA37-T Carbine. Both rifles can be outfitted with the MA37-Series SOPMOD kit, to the operator’s preference and discretion.

Although the unit relies on outside aviation regiments for most of its transport, it has dedicated itself five UH-144 Falcons, and one D77-TC/G Pelican gunship. There are also three dedicated Cougar IFVs, of which comprises the armor capability of the Rangers. Lighter vehicles, such as the Warthog are brought in as necessary by requisitions and requirement by unit commanders.
