The Rusty Loo Rust Server

Due to lower population volumes I'm switching to weekly wipes to keep things fresh for everyone and bring on new comers more often each Thursday. We had over 20 new visitors on wipe day and it always dwindles over time. By week 2 the server is dead. By wiping each week, people seeking fresh starts will join the server more often and possibly stick around for future weeks. People that get raided on the first weekend can hope to rejoin on wipe day and not sit out for 2 weeks, as well. Not to mention by week 2, some groups are packing over half a dozen m249s and 100s of rockets and new comers have zero chance to get established if they were not here on wipe day.

This may suck for some people with less time, but we have plenty of solo players that get bases set up and are competitive within 1-2 days.

Weekly wipes:
-Keep large groups in check and from being over powered by week 2.
- Invites new players more often to enjoy a fresh start server.
- people who get destroyed during week 1 don't feel like they are wasting their time rebuilding with zero hope of competing with big groups by week 2.
- fresh map to explore each week.
- fresh start to try new builds and learn from previous mistakes.
- longer lasting beginning game rather than long drawn out end game periods.


I believe the pros outweigh the cons. I apologize to anyone that is inconvenienced by this change, but nearly all other solo duo trio (quad) servers are on weekly wipe schedule and people who need more time can always join official monthly wipe servers as needed. More fresh blood in the server is always a help to build a community in the long term.

Sadly the majority of people who wanted a bi weekly wipe didn't even stick around for this wipe cycle, so catering to people who rarely play on the server doesn't really help those who are dedicated to the server growing bigger.
