关于 The Pen and Paper

Pen and Paper Roleplaying

We do Roleplaying Games here, but you know that if you're here. Generally what that means is traditional tabletop games, such as Dungeons and Dragons, Rogue Trader, Call of Cthulhu, etcetera. Note, we currently do not have the books for 4e or 5e. What we do have is a large amount of splatbook and core book support for 3.5e and some 3e. We generally prefer to use dndtools for easy access to SRD feats, spells, domains, etcetera. However, let it be known that we do have some house rules on character creation, advancement attribute scaling, classes, and races.

Firstly, in character creation we use a point-buy system taken from Neverwinter Nights (One). This means a creature's base attributes are 8 across the board. To go from 8 to 14 in an attribute, this costs 6 points. To go for 14 to 16 in an attribute, this costs 4 points. To go from 16 to 18 in an attribute, this costs 6 points. This means to obtain the maximum of an 18 in an attribute, one must spend 16 points total. A character is given 32 attribute points to allocate at the start of the game. If you race has racial traits that modify the base attributes what we do is simply apply negative modifiers before you begin allocating points. For example, say an orc variant race has -4 charisma, This means your starting attribute for charisma is now 4 instead of 8 and would costs a staggering 10 points to even get charisma up to 14. If you have a positive modifier to an attribute, say a +4 to strength, you apply this after you finish allocating your points. This means if you have 16 strength as an orc variant at the end of attribute allocation, you then add the +4 racial attribute bonus to your strength attribute, totaling it at 20. We also maximize all HD and allow rescaling Constitution, meaning that a barbarian of first level and 16 constitution gains the full amount from his 1d12 (12 hp + 3 from Con). The reason this is done is because all enemies also have customized attribute lines and maximized HD, which makes them considerably more dangerous than the enemies in the core rulebook. A core rulebook goblin's attributes are 11 STR, 13 DEX, 12 CON, 10 INT, 9 WIS, 6 CHA, 5 HP. A goblin from our campaign instead looks like 16 STR, 18 DEX, 14 CON, 8 WIS, 12 INT, 6 CHA, 10 HP. This is assuming that the goblin would not have a class in the campaign, which is false, as all enemies do unless they are specifically stated not to have a class.

Secondly for character attribute advancement, what this means is generally simple. Instead of gaining the 3.5e standard of +1 every 4 levels (4, 8, 12, etcetera). You gain a +2. This means at fourth level you have two attribute points to allocate instead of just one.

We will accept things from dndtools, dandwiki, and dnd-wiki, but it will be examined first. Finally, we also provide our own races and classes. Some of these are made from scratch, others are base reworks of other SRD/Non-SRD classes and races.
