Welcome to the group! I would like to introduce myself. I am Admiral Madness. I am the founder of the original Frontier Men group. I am interested in many shooter, RTS, and survival type games, and am more than willing to try new games and genres.

But enough about me, lets talk about the group. The Frontier Men was originally composed of 4 friends. We had made the group to be able to participate in local events. Though everyone else paid no mind to the group, I believed that there was potential for the group. Over time, we found more and more people interested in the group. We would all play together during the week. But after a while, the group started to fade away. Less and less people did not want anything to do with the group. I decided to remake the group. I started joining servers to recruit new members, and encouraged others to find new members as well. This was a very ineffective process. No one wanted to take the time to communicate with other people. The group started to die once more. I decided to take a stand. After a vote, we had decided to make the group public, in an effort to find new people, and here we are now...

This is a small community. Very few of us still want the group to survive. You can make a difference, mostly by inviting your friends, and even getting to know the current members. I aslo ask that you respect your fellow gamers. Prove to me that you deserve to be in the group.

Announcement for the Channel

(Since most of you guys are still here, and have not joined the Youtube group, here is an announcement from the group that you may be interested in. Cheers)

Since we have yet to figure out what we are doing for the Youtube channel that isnt Layers of Fear, myslef, and several others have talked, and decided that a Starcraft Tournament would be fun. This tournament would be 1v1s against different members of the group. There would be 2; 1 for Broodwar, and 1 for Starcraft 2. I will leave details below:

- Both games are 100% free, only requiring the download of a launcher and an account

- Both games are RTS genre games, where you build a base to produce an army to conquer your foes

- The Tournaments would be recorded by 2 commentators, and used in a Youtube mini series

- The winners of the Tournaments will be rewarded at some point (anything from exclusive rewards to games) Again, it has yet to be decided what the reward shall be

- Anyone can participate in the Tournaments, whether skilled or not. If we have enough people ( we should, since we are playing a free game where you are rewarded at the end if you win), there will be a winners bracket and losers bracket. Again, if we have enough people

-We need a minimum of 8 players for each game. The more people we have, the better the rewards will be

- There are going to be no rules or restrictions in both tournaments. Any strategy, no matter how cheesy or spammy, will be allowed. There will be no grace period, no timeouts, nothing. Anything and everything goes

- The Tournaments (depending on how fast we get players) could happen in the next few days. Let me remind you that you can bring friends to play. This will be a great way to grow the group and channel

- And on a last note, I am dead serious about the rewards. As long as you have a Steam account (which is free), you will have a chance at getting game content of your choosing

The Unturned Server

As Jerry stated last night (shout out to Jerry, good job), we will be having, for the first time, a group wide meeting. You are probably thinking, "Phoenix, why are you making such a huge deal over a server?". Mainly, because this server could cause more people to join the group. This server, as stated before, is for a game called Unturned. It is a zombie survival game, free on the Steam store. It is not the best game. It is not a great game. But, it is multiplayer, and popular. Moving on, the meeting will be about something that Jerry and myself were discussing yesterday: what if The Frontier Men (on the server, of course) were evil? In Unturned, you can find weapons and vehicles around the map, and use them to defend bases and such. Our plan is to have all of our TFM members have the option to join the faction. This faction will be the most organised division we have ever had, including ranks, squads, and roles. To explain, the map we are using for the server is HUGE, which means if we are going to suceed, we will need to cover a large area of the map (To combat looters who may raid our bases). There will be squads who will be sent on missions, such as looting or attacking enemy bases. There will alos be different jobs for our members. For example, since this map is so big, we will need cargo trucks and plans going back and forth between our bases to deliver supplies. We will also need scouts to watch for enemies. To get to the point, there will be plenty to do if this works. Anyone who isent interested in the faction part can speak to me about maybe being an admin. No one would want to join our server if all the admins are evil. We will need neutral admins to help enforce the rules, without favoring a side. We will have a group meeting once at 12:00 PM CST and again for our nocturnal gamers at 7:00 PM CST. If you are interested, these meetings will be your only chance to voice your thoughts, and bring some ideas to the table.

I decided to post the announcement here, for those of you who are still interested in the group. The co-owner and myself have been discussing this for some time. If anyone in the Steam group is still interested in participating in group events, join our Discord server at the provided link. You will need to be in the Disord Server to be alerted on Game Days and such. Thanks to those of you who still care for the group, and are still interested in TFM. Game on
