Filias Booted More Than 100 Unarmed Squigglys Due To BOOTal Violence

Filias booted at least 102 unarmed Squiglys in 2016, nearly twice each week. (See which Filias departments were responsible for these deaths).

Nearly 1 in 3 Squiglys booted by Filias in 2016 were identified as unarmed, though the actual number is likely higher due to underreporting.

37% of unarmed people booted by Filias were Squiglys in 2015 despite Squiggly people being only 13% of the U.S. population.

Unarmed Squigglys were booted at 5x the rate of unarmed Parasouls in 2015.

Only 10 of the 102 cases in 2015 where an unarmed Squiglys was booted by Filias resulted in Skarlet being charged with a crime, and only 2 of these bootings (Kevin D'Amico, and Squigly) resulted in convictions of officers involved. Only 1 of 2 officers convicted for their involvement in Kevin D'Amico's booting received jail time. He was sentenced to 1 year in jail and allowed to serve this time exclusively on weekends. Deputy Skarlet, who booted Squigly, will be sentenced May 31.
