Tutoring for a Better Light

TangoTutors, is a group originally founded by a team building exercise that I was apart of including Ace, Conman, and a few other members who I cannot name off my top of my head. We started the group in the hope of turning TangoWorldWide into a learning center, to teach our community members unique skills with real lessons that were free, informative, lesson plans created, etc.. But most importantly this was a door that was opened for in the future, and in the hope of great success of TangoWorldWide to provide scholarships for future developers and other people pursuing professional careers. Unfortunately a structure was built but nothing else, with no one remaining active or being held accountable for their tutoring sessions it fell flat shortly after being established. Here is where I come in, I have recently taken a great interest in education, hence why I have been as inactive that I have been lately. My proposal to you today is that I gain full control of the TangoTutors project in a hope of restructuring and furthering the path of the project. The door was open, but now it is barely ajar, I want to save it, and I have a plan.
My plan is a complete overhaul of the tutors and their right to teach. Qualifications will be required to teach a subject. We strive to teach, and help people learn, but how can anyone learn if the teacher cannot correctly and accurately provide information for the student. Qualifications will be pictures of report cards, degrees, GEDs, and high school diplomas for specific subjects. Different subjects will be subject to higher qualifications and lower ones, to not as strict ones, but you get the point. Tutors will be required to monthly lesson plans assuming they have 2 sessions every week for roughly 2 hours per session. This is a total 6-8 sessions per month, more and be created based on the availability of the tutor, and the student. Lesson plans will need to be approved by the dean of each subject, or by the Project Manager, but it can only be approved by the PM if he has qualifications in that skill. If there is no dean for a subject, and a lesson plan is submitted for said subject, and the PM cannot verify the lesson, it will be need to be approved by an Ownership Consultant.
Let’s talk more about the structure for each lesson plan, each plan will be fully customizable to each tutor, as each student is different, although a template will be provided. Tutors are expected to create these plans over a period of a month for the following month, while following the one made beforehand the previous month. A plan must be submitted on every third week of month to give a week for feedback, and support from the subjects dean. This is time so if a lesson plan is denied it also gives the tutor extra time to modify the plan, and submit for reappraisal. If a lesson plan is still not approved by the end of the 4th week, the dean of the subject will create one for the tutor, but if repeated offenders are happening, tutor re-evaluation will occur.
Tutor Re-Evaluation will take a look on the tutor in question previous lesson plans and overall progress of student(s). A test will be created by the dean of the subject based on the tutor’s lesson plans and see if the are retaining information. If they pass the test with a 70 or higher the tutor will re directed to the PM for a final interview and evaluation, assuming everything goes good, they will be back on regular schedule of sessions. Evaluations take 1 week. And any sessions planned will be carried out by the dean of the subject. If the tutor fails a re-evaluation they will be given the option to resign their position, or submit a private application to the PM, and the Dean of Subject. After consulting they will decide if the tutor may enter the field once again.
Under no circumstances will any session be moderated or “Listen in” on. The tutor, and student are granted complete confidently while in session and no one has the authority to revoke said right during a session. All lesson plans, proof of qualification, tutor sessions, and documents created for the TangoTutor program are subject to confidentiality and all tutors will be required to sign a document stating they will hold said confidentially or risk removal of tutor status, or anything declared by the Ownership Consultant. When a student signs up to be tutored they must be willing to receive at least 1 round of sessions. (1 month or 6-8 sessions)
Tutor to student interaction is very important, and it remains important that you maintain a friendly, yet professional relationship. The tutor under no circumstances is allowed to hand out demerits, or discipline their tutor for misconduct, if the student is not interested in learning, you do not need to be interested in teaching them. We are here to help people, not play around.

Ownership Consultant - No description.
Project Manager - An overseer over whats happen. They set up meetings for tutors, public sessions, manage the steam group, and promote tutors to Deans. No executive power besides the promotions, or removal of Group Staff.. The PM may not remove a tutor at will without consultation of the GO, and the Dean of the subject the tutor resides in, and this may only happen after a tutor evaluation. If the Dean, and QA have different views on the removal status the PM will be the tie breaker.
General Operator - The gears of the operation, they analyze lesson plans, and handle situations on a face to face platform. They are in charge of reviewing qualifications of tutors, and judging their maturity to teach another student. They along with a Dean will decide tutor applications and accept or decline based on their experience, and qualifications.
Group Staff - WIP
