It has been only 32 years since the Second Roman Kingdom, which was the hold-out of Roman power after much of the Empire fell to barbarians in the 400's, was reformed into our New Roman Republic.

However, the New Roman Republic has hit a period of economic crisis. With much of the world's economy facing outward towards the Novus Terra and Asia, the long-lived Roman Republic has been forced to adjust, opening their doors to new trade opportunities and adjusting economic policies.

Not only that, but the mighty nation of France with a man named Napoleon at the helm is claiming our once-great Imperial throne. It is only a matter of time before he marches on our borders to conquer the Eternal City and truly proclaim himself Caesar.

In the East, the Holy Orthodox Empire, who have recently reclaimed Constantinople from the Ottomans, believe themselves to be the heirs to the Empire due to the Byzantine legacy they grasp at.

The Ottomans also face a threat to our land in Tunisia, which we only took from them 20 years ago! The people in the land of Tunisia love our democracy, and are willing to fight for it to be free of Ottoman oppression.

The Confederation of the Alps have borders with our Greek states and Italy itself! They are on the doorstep of the Republic, and have dilusional dreams of reforming their once-mighty Holy Roman Empire with Northern Italy in their pocket.

And do not toss aside the threat of the newly arisen American Empire. Their ongoing war with the crumbling Spanish Kingdom could lead to their first stakehold in the Mediterranean if they so wish.

The British and the German Confederation are our only allies in this harsh world. However, they are both deeply threatened by the united Scandinavia, called the Northern Empire. If we lose our allies, we lose all hope of Roman independence.

We are the true Romans! The descendants of the mighty Caesar, the mighty Constantine, the mighty Octavian! Our blood pumps red, we are ready for war! We will not let these barbarian savages take Roma, our Eternal City!

You are the Senate. You must protect the people. A Republican dictator has been appointed. Swearing to Deus Himself, he has promised to protect our liberties, and therefore is not seen as a threat. Besides, if he decides to rob us of our liberty, we can once again raise our revolutionary banner.

Lead the mighty Roman Republic through this time of strife. Only through the Senate will our liberty survive! Ad Libertas!
