To make a real difference in the Linux gaming scene.

There is much misunderstanding surrounding why Linux hasn't been a valid option for gaming. We have the clear answers and ways to promote the right organizations to make a change. For starters here are some things YOU can do to support Linux as a gaming platform in the long run.

-Buy games that are ported to linux and also run well on linux. No half-assed ports like Ark for example.

-Buy games that are ported by Feral Interactive. Feral is a company which ports games to mac and linux and recieves a percentage of sales for doing so. Buying games that they port will support the work they do and thus help them port more AAA games. Some of the games they ported include:
Deus EX Mankind Divided
Xcom
Tomb Raider

-Support games which push to implement the vulkan API. This doesn't always mean a game which is ported to Linux. The latest doom game for example has implemented and even helped develop Vulkan but the game wasn't officially ported to Linux. Supporting Doom and id software will in turn support Linux.

-Avoid developers that make design descisions which prevent the game from being ported to linux easily. H1Z1 is a good example of this.

-Test games on linux and report bugs. This helps developers improve the quality of their Linux ports and shows them that the Linux gaming community is present and that there is a demand for a Linux port.

-Finally request a Linux port for your favorite games. In the end if nobody speaks up then nobody is heard. Developers need to know that there is a market out there for the Linux platform and that it is indeed worth the effort to port the game.

You will notice that most of these tasks don't even require that you use Linux. You can enjoy the current advantages of the drivers and performance on windows while still helping Linux gaming prosper. My reason for making this initiative is because there is so much misinformation out there about Linux gaming and misinformation leads to ineffective action.
