What Can be Better than A Novel?

This group is for fans of a great story, so much so that they will toil through much clicking, hacking and slashing, bombing and puzzle-solving to get to the end of one.

Could a game one day be so rich in experience and entertainment that it is considered as good as a great novel? A few good games, in the recent history of PC gaming could certainly make that claim. Great story-rich games provide a unique experience for the player/reader that a traditional novel cannot.

Not to say that a computer game could ever replace the novel, for writers and/or for readers/players. They are different mediums for carrying a story and stimulate different parts of the brain. I mean novels are just marks on a flat page that get the reader to imagine everything else; how cool is that?

But story-rich games - the reader is interactive and immersed in the story. I'd love to see what more good fiction writers can do with this. And not using auto-generating plot and character apps. :P

Maybe story-rich pc games could evolve the very way we tell stories, just like the novel did when it was first invented.

Anyway, this group enjoys story-rich games. This group also encourages developers to create stories to rival even our greatest novels.
