A manhunt has been launched in Kwale county to find Somali returnees suspected of killing a reformed Al Shabaab member.

Sudi Mwagore was shot dead last week in Ukunda and the killers made away with his motorcycle.

County commissioner Kutswa Olaka said Mwagore was among a group participating in the re-integration programme launched by the

government.

Addressing the press at Pride Inn Hotel in Diani on Friday, he said police are searching for the returnees in Gombato, Mbuani, Chigoti, Mwamambi, Msambweni and Vukani, all in Matuga constituency.

“The re-integration programme helps reformed youths restart their lives. We are running the project on a pilot basis and expect to

take on 300 people afterwards,” Olaka said.

He urged residents to forward relevant information to the police.
