Hello everyone!

We had small progress for the current project!

Since we were able to integrate our vehicles in the HL2 campaign, we need to make them failsafe now and also add safety features to prevent game breaking stuff.



The game breaking bug we discovered last time we worked on our project, was already noticed and fixed! At the moment only in the GMod dev branch! Fixes of this kind will always be released in the dev branch and comes later to the main branch of GMod! While I also worked on the new map I noticed a bunch of old functions in SW vehicles that should be our new SW Base functions already.

So I combined this current project with a maintenance round of SW Addons.
An amount of 49 SW addons were affected by old code, mostly vehicles. I also fixed some bugs in models, physics and stretched textures. The full and complete update log of all mentioned addons will come later!

Here new progress of the new map, I added a 3D skybox, blank atm:

Built-in SW vehicles and also some other addons that will be needed for this map will be listed in my workshop description later.



Separately, Grocel was really cooking up a big thing for SW trains!

He programmed a function that will be able to put SW trains on the railway the moment you spawn them! This function can scan automatically the railway you looking at. Started from Minitrain Gauge up to PHX gauge and everything in between.

Which will help a lot for all gauges that will come in the future and of course for you, that are using SW trains! BUT this technique must be integrated too before we will release it! So more time is needed.



In our workflow we found so much stuff which needed improvement, so one comes to another and I worked on much more than the current project.

This isn't a bad thing in general but for the project itself. But I think it's better that way because in the end all updates will be released at once! So, much new stuff to play around with!

Since there are many improvements that can be done in SW addons, I will also work parallel on that.

I found a the moment around 10+ issues that start with small texture / model bugs to some small technical issues. All these fixes will come with the finished update of the current project.

So in the end I will release the current project update, a big SW Base update and many bug fixes for certain SW addons.

There are also some other addons that will be needed for this map.

Hello!
I've been enjoying the mini trains mod for a few months now, and I have a suggestion;

Public transit stations.
These would solely use the passenger resource, but would not require cargo input. This would enable more realistic use of the subway-styled locomotives and cars, via smaller local lines which only interact with freight lines at larger city stations, and maybe hospitals?

Thank you so much for your work on the mini trains mod. As someone who doesn't have the space for an irl model train layout, this has been scratching that creative itch!

Since there is no tool that I know that can change a poseparameter, it would be useless to add a poseparamter in the doors.

I also tried it with the Animation Tool to reduce the animations speed to 0 to set it in a pose I like but that failed too since you can set it only to 0.05.

Bone Edit of the context menu also only works on ragdolls.

So I would recommend to make the doors invisible and take something else as a door replacement or spawn the truck door as a prop and clip it with the clip tool and put it the way you want. :steamthumbsup:

Ik I'm probably not the target audience here
But the fact that you can't open/pose the doors on the trucks makes them kinda iffy to use in art
How hard would that be to add?
Actually being to open/close them on the functional vehicles isn't too big a concern to me but just being able to pose them on the prop versions would be amazing
