Japan is a very traditional civilization, if you look at japanese culture, they're very family oriented. Now a lot of people will say "but the Japanese, they do not have kids." Less and less young people in Japan actually want to have sex and this is a very conservative value. Monasticism has never been as widely practiced and Anime is to thanked for that. So they'll say that 2d waifus they are degenerate, because they are these ideal women on a screen and this is an affront to actual women, but this is the same argument as feminist use. When feminist say when you have idealization of hot women, that's an affront to ugly women and fat women, but actually 2d waifus are actually very pro-conservative. The reason for that is, if you start idealizing these qualities of 2d waifus: They're very happy, they speak in these cute accents, they're very submissive, but you know sometimes they also have a lot of backbone. It will force women to conform to these high standards.
