Steam Remote Play Multiplayer Option

it seems Steam has added a feature called Remote Play, so you can launch a 2 player Local Coop game from your PC then invite a friend to Remote Play with you, then it gives them a game window of your game where you Share Screens basically of just the game window

the other player cant see your desktop but its basically like a Skype for just your game and also allows your friend to use an input like controller to play with you as 2nd player, so you can try and check this system out and see if it runs better than the actual Local Host connection the multiplayer for this game already uses (only the host has to own the game, so you can also use this to test a friends game and see if you wanna buy it yourself)

SEGA Classic Multiplayer Performance

Just a heads up for all the SEGA Classic players out there on how the multiplayer works, the multiplayer for these old games from the SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics use Local Host connections, meaning whoever the Host is has their PC run the match and it allows other players to connect to them, instead of there being a Dedicated Server between the 2 players that runs the match for them to connect to.

So the #1 way to make the performance as good as possible in a Local Host multiplayer system is to make sure you dont use Wi-fi, so make sure your using an Ethernet Cord and have your PC plugged in to your Internet Router so the connection is as stable as possible for the person connecting to you, otherwise if your using Wi-fi you can guarantee that anyone that joins you for coop will lag to the point its not worth playing.

You may also wanna try to make sure the person joining you isnt really far away, cuz with Local Host the further the distance the worse the ping is constantly, even with out the random fluctuations of Wi-fi.

If your joining a Dedicated Server multiplayer system and using Wi-fi its probably fine for you cuz your internet just has to handle only your connection, but in Local Host your PC / internet connection handles your connection and anyone connecting to your match, so it might not seem like a big deal but its literally a night and day difference, so hopefully that helps to make some players game performance better and happy gaming guys and girls!

(Really you should always use an Ethernet Cord for online gaming, although in games with Local Host multiplayer systems its actually necessary, otherwise everyone except the Host of the match will lag up a storm lol, and i know its a pain to run a cord from your Device to your Router but its 100% worth it)

also the Metal Slug series is a good old 2D arcade shooter you can play coop, although i see a lot of ppl have issues with the emulation they used to run the game on newer hardware and OS systems, and they are a bit over priced for classics so you wanna watch for a sale

the games Double Dragon IV and Double Dragon Trilogy are also good classic games you can play online coop

although they dont run through the SEGA Classic program, they both have their own store page so its like each one has an emulator for it built in, instead of they run as DLC's through the SEGA Classics program

and they were also originally Nintendo / Super Nintendo games and were ported for the SEGA Genesis later on, but they are still solid retro coop games lol
