So yeah, what I said second then; 1 year makes sense. 8 years does not. Valve why
Currently ONLY if you have at least 8 years of service.
Didn't really want a discussion about the value of cards. Just whether the 8 years cut off is fair.
I am curious to know one thing: Can you get any trading cards without spending money? Because if not, I don't see a reason to restrict it to even 1 year, letalone 8. Why worry if someone wants to spend money on their alt account? They still have to spend the money, and they'd spend it on their main otherwise, so nothing changes. They're just more obviously rich.
But if so, then I agree with maybe 1 year minimum age. That gives Valve a year to get stats on what the account does, and see if it's a legitimate account or not. Then they could just permanently prevent it from getting cards. There'd be some false positives here from people who don't use Steam regularly, since that looks suspiciously like an alt, but truthfully... I don't see it as a great loss anyway. You're still getting dirt cheap games, so it's not like you're losing.
I JUST made the cut off, but I think it's a bit unfair for people who have been a Steam user for say five years.
I'll set up an Event when I get back in October.
It wasn't bad.
Then a few of us tried a free game that was a cross between Minecraft and DayZ.
I didn't mind that one, either.
(That's a joke.)
To play what though, Hin?
That's the biggest problem.
It's got to be a game that people have downloaded, that lots of people can play.
Then there's the issue of whether we take over a public server, or set up a private one, which has its own inherent problems.
The other problem is number of players, We would have to find a game that acommodates whoever shows up, be it four or ten players.
The other issue is whether Non-RB members are going to play. There have been nights where someone wanted to play with us who was very good at the selected game, and quite frankly it ruined the experience for the RB members, because getting pwned repeatedly is a lot less fun than playing with people all around your skill level.
I suggest that if anyone is keen for an Event, just set one up and run it. That's the best way to see if there is any interest.
Yup. I never got to choose any of the games at the end of it. So it meant that I spent Friday night, my only gaming night, playing games that I HATED.
"round up all the U.S. players and Australians into different group and pair off for co-op games"
Tried that, didn't work. No one wanted to organise the Northern Hemisphere players, which is what that idea takes to work.
At one stage I was staying up all night to run games for those in Europe and the US, which was exhausting.
The group has splintered too much now to run Events. Everyone has gone their different ways.
It was enjoyable for a while, but all things must end.
I think it's mostly people being too busy to do events, or have other things they'd rather play instead.
That's not to say that there aren't people from this group who still play together. I know Tiaanable, Liggitt, and Hinnistin all do.
I am planning to start up some Gears of War with Bzerk, soon.
A few of us played Borderlands on Sunday afternoon, for a while.
You can always leave a message on my profile if you want to play a game some time, and we can work something out.
And then I discovered Hatoful Boyfriend has a Linux build. >_>
I log on, get all the stickers for one badge, make it, then log right back out.
So I went back to play some Left4Dead. I am SO out of practice.
For shame.
The game is fun as hell.
I'm just making a pun. I have watched it played a little, mostly D.va, and that just left me more confused than I started; because apparently D.va is actually the mech, and the girl is just a ghost life until you can 'respawn' in the field. That's how it seems like she should be played, anyway.
I doubt you would drop $80 on a game.
Too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ funny.
/resub
I get a couple every time I play. I could have made the stupid badge about 10 times by now.
Not even kidding - check out my items.
I mean, I love TF2 ... but this is a bit silly.
... nasea city ...
The night was a solid 37 points.
We did not die, despite some evil looks from Hin.
That's almost half the time it usually takes.
Thats ghe only down side about 2 screens or windowed
The game evicted me tonight while it was still running. It changes screens on me.
I could still hear the game. Nek minit DUN DUN DUUUUUN.
Never thought it was gonna happen.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
[ you don't HAVE to keep moving your mouse between the two screens, Arg ]
Forewarned is forearmed - let my experience guide yours.
That's not creepy at all.
Free and works so much better.
Bit of a bummer as I would have loved to have played Starbound.
I would skip the Pro Tour but I'm not sure when / if they will have another one in Sydney.
Have fun with the game.

Giggles' event is tomorrow, from around 3pm to whenever like 9-10pm I think.
I'm possibly going to be unavailable for a bit of this event, not entirely sure when I'll show up or have to go. But I'll be there when I can.
I think the idea of this event possibly came from when you guys played last weekend.
Was thinking of doing mine next weekend around the same times.
Other than that, it's a bit tricky.
Can't see a Borderlands Event planned for this group. Is it a word of mouth thing?
I know I played some Borderlands with Dallas aka Giggles last weekend and it was a blast,
I'll probably stream that too, like I'll be doing with Giggles' Borderlands event.
On Battle.net
Don't know if that was the best / only place to buy it.
I just know I am gonna get my arse repeatedly kicked.
Any tips for gittin gud? Like practice / bot servers?
Apparently know it's the latest Tomb Raider.
