Revaer's RP Group

A group for my Steam friends to hang out and RP. YEAH!

Current rules to keep in mind:

1) Permission: Always ask for it if you're unsure. Randomly charging into RPs uninvited can ruin immersion, break stories, and outright be looked down upon. Equally bad is randomly jumping over into lewd territory.

2) Fun: If you aren't having fun RPing with someone, stop. No reason to RP something that makes you uncomfortable. ...just let them know that you're stopping. If no-one finds it fun to RP with you, I'll try and offer advice on how to correct that. After all, fun should be rule #1. SHOULD be.

3) Write: We need to be able to know what you're trying to do, so do write legibly. If they mistranslate what you said, simply say it more clearly next time. Anything you don't say can be used, keep that in mind. (Even though CAN and SHOULD will differ here.)

- PS: If they clearly understood what you meant in one sentance, then you're fine. Writing too much can be as bad as writing too little, (though I (Revaer) personally won't have any issues with walls of text, they should be more common in RP.) Keep the people you RP with in mind. Walls of text can be intimidating, but no text can be annoying.

4) Labels/Tags: If you intend to make something NSFW, let us know. (The title would be ideal, but very early on in the first post might also work.) If you don't (or do) want a bunch of people jumping in, let us know! If you make comments out of character, let us know! I'll be using my own format to mark things, but as long as we know you can mark them however. (Does this sound like the first actual rule?) This rule make following rule 1 WAY easier.

5) God-Modding: This is a general unexplained rule, but if the staff feel you're acting outside of what your character can do, I (or other mods) may take a number of steps to correct you. The easiest correction is rewriting what your character can, in fact, do. Beyond that, we can ask you politely to change what you're doing and/or rewrite your posts for you. Seeing as Steam tracks all changes made, it is super easy to spot power abuse by either members or staff. Remember, you decide how powerful your characters are, so you may as well stick to your own written limits.

-PS: In order to enforce this rule, your character needs to be written down. I won't RP with blank checks. (If other people want to, I guess they can.)

As far as guidelines, I do reccomend you don't just copy characters from some game/show/story somewhere, though I can't really stop you. (Copying settings and 'standard' gear, however, not as bad.) I also reccomend you allow your character to be challenged and face hardships, after all, great stories involve trials and challenges. These aren't rules, but I may be more open to people who follow them.
