"All I wanted was a life without pain... 'TOUGH' said God..."

For those who appreciate Doug Rattmann's valiant efforts to save Chell, and possibly die in doing so.

He also has amazing art, warns us about the cake, and has great taste in music!

Doug Rattmann is the remaining survivor of the holocaust experianced amongst the scientists at Aperture Science Enrichment Center, after GlaDOS flooded it with neurotoxin. He was forced to test, and became a bit crazy after losing his Companion Cube, and refused to believe the promise of the cake. He "guides" Chell throughout Portal with his art, and without him, it is very much possible she wouldn't have made it.

After Chell destroys GlaDOS, Rattmann is now free. However, he watches as Chell is dragged back in. He then gives up his freedom to save Chell, and is attacked by turrets in doing so. Heavily injured, he falls asleep in a relaxation vault, and takes a nice long nap.
