Firstly, let me quote a message sent to me by several of my steam friends:
"If two people by name (NisseFar and Nivek) wants to add you to their list, do not accept. It is a virus.Tell it to everyone on your list because if ome person on your list adds him or her, you get it too. It is a hard drive killer and a very horrible virus.Please pass it to everyone on your list.DO NOT ACCEPT THEM, NO MATTER WHAT!"

...and now for the truth, I've seen a few of my friends ranting about this NisseFar and Nivek 'virus' thingy, sorry to break it to you, but this is just plain old chainmail.

How exactly is a virus supposed to install onto you and your Steam friends' computers via accepting a friend request? It isn't. Its impossible.
Even if it was possible, the virus wouldn't have gotten anywhere, because it would've destroyed the computer's of potential hosts before having a chance to pass itself onto another host, Thus stopping itself in it's own tracks.

They could, however, send messages to the friends of a user containing a link to the virus, but even that would be stupid considering that the virus is a 'hard drive killer' and would need access to the computer which it was 'destroying' the hard drive of to be able to send the messages before destroying the hard drive...

In other words: This is a whole load of BS.
