SPY CHECK!

The bowels of Teufort's BLU base were dark and silent. The resident Pyro wandered the lower hallways aimlessly. Boredom began to sink in, crushing and persistent. The majority of his team were across the bridge having all the fun and turning enemy REDs into splotches of innards and piling corpses. Poor Pyro had to stay and help the fretful Engineers babysit their nest of Sentries and Dispensers. Oh, woe was Pyro.

A shout came from upstairs and Pyro's attention drew instantly, head raised and ear open to any alerts. But it was just a hoot and holler, nothing more. One of the Engies deciding to break into a hoedown for no apparent reason. And so Pyro lowered his flamethrower and sunk back into intense boredom once again.

"Hrrf," Pyro sighed, but it came out more like what Darth Vader would have sounded like if he sighed and Star Wars had been made in the 1960s so such a reference would be relevant to the story.

He continued on his way, roaming the halls and listening for suspicious activity. He headed to the sewer entrance and waited, listening for footsteps. None. Just the sound of sloshing water and perhaps a drip or two. Pyro turned and jogged back toward the front doorways. The sound of sniper fire echoed across the distance between the forts. Since his team had no snipers, he kept to the wall and inched cautiously toward the right doorway, intent on keeping his skull in one piece.

A scream from the RED side signaled it would be okay for him to peek out for a second or two, so he did. Nothing much going on out front. The team had long since pushed inside the RED base and were probably fighting it out down in the Intelligence room below. It was neck and neck: 2 to 2. But of course, things looked far more in favor for team BLU than RED. Pyro ducked back inside. The sniper would spawn again and most likely head right back to the battlements, and Pyro didn't want his head to be the first thing the surprisingly handsome Australian man saw when he got there.

He was just about to head back down the hallway and see what the Engineers were up to when he heard footsteps outside. They were coming straight for the left doorway. Pyro turned and prepared to give whoever dared try to trespass onto BLU territory a good roasting.

"That you, Pyro?" asked Demoman with his grenade launcher bared and ready for action.

"Yph," Pyro answered with a nod.

Pyro lowered his weapon, completely forgetting that it would be wiser to make sure the Demoman-like figure standing in the doorway was really Demoman. Instead, he offered a simple friendly wave and the Demoman returned a smile. Pyro watched as Demoman headed around the corner and down the hall. His attention went back to the RED base, which had been eerily silent for so long, and he continued waiting eagerly for a declaration of his team's status on stealing the RED's Intelligence briefcase.
