What is Otome you ask?

An Otome game (literally "maiden game") is a story-based video game. Generally one of the goals, besides the main plot goal, is to develop a romantic relationship between the female player character and one of several male or female characters. This genre is most established in Japan and is mostly made up of visual novels and simulation games; particulary dating sims and life simulation games.

Ninon the Upside-Down Mermaid has been released over on itchio. It is by the dev,
Atelier in Wonderland[madame-photon.itch.io].

In the underwater kingdom of Cerebrite, there live several mermaid princesses. One of them is Ninon, who was born in a peculiar manner unlike the other merfolk: she had the head of a fish, and the legs of a human. As such, the other merfolk shun her, and she feels out of place amongst even her own family.

Meanwhile, Ninon herself carries a desire to see the world beyond her home of the White Sea, a desire that is granted in a most unorthodox fashion on the night of her 21st birthday, in the form of a chance encounter with a nobleman named Vivien Bellerose.

I know some of your admins write for IndieGems too.
They're are now not writing any new reviews for Nukearts.

Just trying to do my best by letting more people know ^^ thanks.

Hello!
I'm not sure if y'all are aware but Nukeart studios have copyrighted the words "HIDDEN CATS" and have subsequently been targeting developers on steam with infringement notices. They've retroactively claimed ownership back to 2022. A lot of other hidden cat developers have had to rebrand overnight or be delisted on steam. Nukearts DID NOT invent this niche genre. They are trademark trolling and bullying.

Consider delisting your curated reviews if possible for their games.
I'm just spreading the word, it helps if more people know and more people to talk about it.

Not to mention coming up in April 2026, the Hidden Object Festival sale begins on steam and new games set to release are affected by this.
