It has been announced that future Capcom games will feature one-save games. Although this is probably to curb used game sales, Capcom has denied this. Regardless of the causation, the one-save policy is detrimental to the gaming experience.

Although we as PC gamers generally don't deal with used games as much as our fellow console gamers, we are still all gamers.


This new effort against used games hits the lower classes and students the hardest, who are always low on the money to buy video games, let alone used ones. As a result, more gamers will likely turn to the illegal act of piracy, bringing capcom in an even worse situation.


As a result, we need to put pressure on capcom to reverse this decision. In order to do that, we must not purchase any Capcom-developed or published games in the future.

This is some really old news, but in case you live under a rock, Capcom cancelled Mega Man Legends 3 and blamed it on the fans and how they didn't develop it for them.

All of the fan outrage must be taking its toll on Capcom, because Capcom has reported a 37% decrease in sales.

In more recent news though, Ubisoft has announced that they too will be taking its shot at used games in the form of repressive DRM.

When will game developers learn that there is no way to shut out piracy? They will seemingly go at any risk to shut down piracy, probably even taking their own games offline. Any and every game single player game that has been released has been cracked, and this will probably continue into the future.

The solution is to just simply provide just enough DRM that it doesn't take away from the user's experience. Steam's DRM is a good example of this. If only every game could be released on Steam..

anybody mentioned the whole SF4->SSF4->SSF4:AE
or MvC3->UMvC3
Or the fact that Street fighter x Tekken has a gem system that totally unbalance the game toward whoever is willing to pay more $$$?
Capcom is just scamming Fighting games fans out of their money right now ... so yeah .. no more capcom games for me ...
