Les Grognards - The Old Guard

Les Grognards is a casual gaming clan for adults who enjoy hanging out with friends and playing games together, with a focus on communication, teamwork, and camaraderie.

Our core membership has been playing together as a unit since 2015, reconstituted under a new banner and new leadership in the Spring of 2019. Our name derives from Napoleon's elite Guard, whom he affectionately called "Les Grognards" - the Grumblers, whose reputation and status earned them the freedom and privilege to express any discontent without punishment or reprisal, their "grumbles" commanding respect but yet not tarnishing their devotion. We are the Old Guard of our casual values, to which we will uphold. We play hard, we fight hard, we bring out the best of ourselves as a team, whether in victory or defeat (but preferably victory).

Our tag is {O|G}. As a casual clan, we encourage members to wear the tag when joining us in-game--we believe in representing our group with pride--but it is *not* a mandatory requirement for membership.

The clan membership of Les Grognards is drawn predominantly from North America and Europe, and the primary language is English. There is no rank structure and no mandatory attendance--if you're on and want to play, join us, it's that simple and real life always takes precedence, we understand that. We all have jobs and lives--gaming is meant to be fun and drama-free.


Racism or other abuse will never be tolerated from a member of the Grognards, whether in clan comms or in-game.
