Recently after the longest government shutdown in US history caused by the democrats not letting trump pass legislation for the 5 billion he requested for a border wall to be built on the US-Mexico border. eventually trump signed a bill that many people including trump thought was awful since it only gave around 1 billion dollars to fund the border wall while giving 28 billion in total for border security but the democrats made sure that in the legislation, it says that the border security funds cant be diverted for a wall. however trump did this to avoid another shutdown and than proceeded to declare a national emergency to get the funding for the wall and now we will be getting 8 billion additional funds for the wall which was more than trump originally asked for. the democrats are probably regretting the decision they made. in other news during the recent state of the union, Trump made it clear that the US would NEVER BE SOCIALIST by saying, "The US will never be socialist, we were born free and will stay free." right after trump said this the cameras panned toward "democratic socialist" (which is the same thing as socialist) Bernie Sanders, who could be seen quite upset and it was a great sight!
