Hello and welcome fellow Russian/Pridnestrovian gamers/steam users!

To those who perhaps are not that familiar with Pridnestrovie, more commonly known as Transnistria the name deprives from the Dniester river which divides the Pridnestrovian part from Mainland Moldova. A country which we are NOT a part of.

The subject of how our beautiful republic came to be is a long and rather complex one so I'll try to simplify it. So After Moldova then known as Bessarabia was taken from Romania in 1940 by the Soviet Union The Soviets established a new autonomous SSR and named it the Moldovian SSR. After WW2 Soviets started promoting Russian migration to The Dniester region specifically Pridnestrovie. This process was called "Russification" as a result of this. Approximately 500,000 Russians and Russian speaking Ukrainians moved to Pridnestrovie. Though there would be no Republic of Pridnestrovie until 1992 after a bloody war against Moldova. It is said that during this time so many Pridnestrovians volunteered to fight against Moldova that there were not enough guns for everyone. Well some might question why did you guys revolt and declare independence? The answer is quite simple actually We feared that the Moldovians that were during this time bolstered by nationalism would either depart us to Ukraine or Russia or do something worse oh yeah and of course there was the fear of Moldova reuniting themselves with Romania too. Anyhow we do not hate the Moldovans. The war is over and we won now we live in peace with our brothers.

And no, after we won we did not exile the Moldovians or Ukrainians. We actually let them stay, schools started teaching Russian and Moldovian and Ukrainian has been recognized as a minority language. We are a very multi-ethnic republic.

I'd also like to add that, no we are not a communist country. We are more like a social democratic republic. We we're more communist during the Igor Smirnov era but not anymore. Our economy is growing at a promising rate due to the fact that Pridnestrovie is a highly industrial region. We also make our own kind of Pridnestrovian brandy kvint. it might not sound appealing but perhaps you didn't know that Moldovians and the Pridnestrovians are credited for making very good wine and brandy.
