Make America Scream

Well, we are almost to 150 members and our item give away! Normally I try to make metal sunday's about discussing and decovering music unknown to a majority, however, I feel its time to spice things up a bit with an extremely well known and appericated thrash band that everyone can enjoy. Lets talk about Slayer

What If I told you Slayer began as a casual coverband. Thats right, when Slayer was first forming in 1982, Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman (too extremely talented guitarists) met with Dave Lombardo (God Drummer) and Tom Araya (That Bass) they did lower budget gigs preforming Iron Maiden and Judas Priest covers. (can't say they didnt have great taste.) It wasnt long however that they were found by a 'spotter' at Metal Blade Records who was intrested in them. Long story short they had a contract deal with Metal Blade and began production on their first studio Album "Show No Mercy"

With a lower budget and the world's majority starting to declining the recent Wave of British Heavy Metal. Slayer had a rough start in popularity, but grew into an underground following as more studio albums were produced. It wasnt until the big album was released. "Reign In Blood" Oh my sweet various false gods. THIS ALBUM. Today it is contested as the greatest Thrash Album of all time (its only real competition is Metallica's "Master of Puppets" Album.) It's dark, gritty lyrics and powerful driving...well...everything, make every song on this album one to remember!
This album helped inspire so many talented muscians to move into the thrash genre and helped slow the populous decline of metal music in the America's/Most of Europe. With that alone, it is safe to say this album is highly significate and puts Slayer themselves on a podium of platnium records.

Slayer today is one the most popular Metal bands in the world, Along with their Thrash contestors; Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax. There isnt much else to say about slayer besides they are insanely good at what they do, and what they have done.
