Invasion of Libya

5th July, 2023 - Algerian troops, supported by the French 5é Air Corps and Foreign Legion special forces crossed from Algeria into Tuareg occupied Libya in a General Offesnive towards Ubari and Ghadames. Any and all forces in the Tuareg Detachment have been offered the chance to peacefully unite with the GNA.

Resistance is still expected however, and where pockets of ristance are found the 5é Air Corps will carry out Strategic strikes before being followed up be special force deployment to the area to aid Algerian troops in removing pockets of resistance.

FIFA is trying to get back on track with it's bidding process, which is usually 8-10 years before World Cups are held. Thus bids for the 2030 and 2034 World Cups will be held in 2023 and 2024 respectively. The World Cup in 2030 will mark 100 years since the inaugural World Cup; held in Uruguay. This event is of such significant importance that FIFA will make an exception to it's rule and allow all Confederations to bid for the World Cup in this year, which would mean that the AFC (2022) and CONCACAF (2026) may attempt a bid for the Centennial World Cup. Australia and the United States may only put in a bid if it is as a joint bid with atleast one other country from their confederation.
