Please help stop the privatisation of the UK Land Registry by signing the petition at the bottom of the summary and sharing on social media. I work at the Land Registry and any kind of privatisation will result in job losses and a massive hike in prices for the public. By the chancellors own admittion the sale of the Land Registry is a short term monetary gain to bring down the deficit. The Land Registry makes millions of pounds a year for the government and provides an impartial and reasonably priced service for our customers. We have a 98% customer satisfaction rating. This is the second consultation by the government who are determined to privatise us. The first consultation resulted in an overwhelming vote of opposition to the idea by industry experts and the general public. The government are now saying it is needed for monetary gain but we say that is like selling the golden goose for the sake of a two day fry up! Incredibly irresponsible and short sighted.
