There is always one that ruins it all...

Fellow L4D(2) fans,

Valve has finally released some new information on the new DLCs for the L4D series. Yup, you read well, I did put DLC in the plural. Well, actually, there's only one DLC coming, but is quite special:

1) it will be released for both games. Yup, both L4D1 and 2 will get it.
a) on L4D1, it will just be a new campaign, without any new SI or weapon. Good ol' L4D1 with new maps.
b) on L4D2, it will normally be the same campaign except that... you'll play as the original survivors from L4D1... in L4D2. In fact, it will be a new L4D2 campaign, but with the original survivors instead of Nick and co., and with all the new weapons and SI.

2) as for who dies at the end of the campaign, players will get to chose each time they play the campaign. Though, the 'canon sacrifice' is and will remain Bill's (that's for the story. This way, you won't always be the one to be sacrificed if you always play Bill).

3) actually, the DLC will be a bit different on L4D2, as it will be a 'double-DLC'. Indeed, L4D2 players will not only get the new 'The Sacrifice' campaign, but they will also get No Mercy. In case you didn't get the pun: 'No Mercy' (from L4D1) will get ported to L4D2. You'll get to play 'No Mercy' with the original set of characters, but with all the new stuff from L4D2: weapons, SI, etc...

4) both DLCs will be free on PC (and Mac), but not on Xbox 360 (thanks Microsoft). No clue as to when it's supposed to be released. Oh, and you'll need to get the DLC for both games, meaning the DLC for L4D1 won't work with L4D2, and vice versa. But since it's free for PC, it's no big deal, really.

5) more DLCs will come in the future, though they did not say anything about whether L4D1 would be concerned, though it's 99.9% sure L4D2 will get them.

6)a) about the Digital Comic, it should be released somewhere in September, but they did not give any date or price (meaning we don't know yet if it's going to be free or not).
b) The Comic will be about 150 pages long, and will be divided in 4 chapters that will be published separately. It will give information about the characters' background and story from before and during the infection, and of course, it will stage the final 'canon sacrifice'. (Bill's). Meaning = a bit of the 'story' that could not fit in the game(s) because it's a multiplayer game meant to be replayed a great number of times, we'll get it in this comic.
