May the Force be with us all..

Well folks, there's been a very long time since you've heard from me. And I know some of the Jedi guys are upset with me for that.

First, apologies for abandoning the Natural Selection community for so long...
I've been working on a very long project, under strict time constraints, so hard that I couldn't even get out and go online to converse with people.
When some other members of the community had similar time constraints due to their jobs, schools etc., like Joojamoi attending university and all, we simply couldn't keep managing and attending the server.
Therefore the server's been left closed since then.
Plus, I've been working 16 to 18 hours a day since that project has finished, including weekends.

Fortunately, all that is about to reach an end.
Starting at the end of this January, I'll have a much relaxed working tempo, and I'll have time to attend and manage a server.
I've already started working on the web part of the things, designing and coding a custom portal software.
The software will include not only - the usual and inevitable - community forum, but also some custom modules regarding server management and similar administrative utilities. Plus some client-side utilities for server administrator like a Firefox plugin that will enable the admins attend to critical situations from work or school, etc. Also, I'm designing the server side software as extendable as possible in order to keep it ready to integrate with Natural Selection 2 when it comes out.

Plus I've been testing some dedicated server providers ping-wise for the past few months. Although I haven't found an acceptable provider within an acceptable price range, except for a Canadian provider which would be unsuitable due to being an ocean in-between, there are still a few candidates to test out.

Anyway, long story short:
There's work in progress on server software.
And we'll be opening a new server within the first two months of 2011.
And we'll switch to Natural Selection 2 when it's released.
