The island of Ireland was never incorporated into the Roman Empire. The fact that the Romans never occupied Ireland meant that Roman influence on Ireland was limited to contacts with Britain and other conquered provinces of the Empire.Ireland was made up of celts who we feared even by the strongest of the Romans.The Romans never bothered the Irish celts as the island was of no us to them and it was to wet and cold for there likeing.The Irish were strong and proud people we would not give up there land with ease.They all so had a thriving culture that is still around in the present day
