NEVER Forget about Freeman!

There's been some bumps along the way, but we are finally ready to share our big news!

First off, we have put out a Release Trailer, a side-by-side Comparison Video, and an in-depth Project Brochure in preparation for launch. Links are available below.

Second, we are excited to announce that the previously mentioned Community Commentary mode has been completed and recorded by the youtubers Caddicarus, Brutalmoose, Rice Pirate, ProJared, and Balrog the Master courtesy of Did You Know Gaming?, along with the creator and voice behind Freeman’s Mind, Ross Scott!

And last, but not least, we have a rock-solid release date! Half-Life 2: Update will be available to download on Steam this Friday, March 27th! Please note that unlike previous versions, this version of Half-Life 2: Update will be a standalone application separate from Half-Life 2, but you will still need to own Half-Life 2 in order to play it.

We thank you all for your patience over the past three years, and hope you enjoy the media. Be sure to stay tuned, because release is right around the corner!

Hey all,

We’ve obviously missed our mark for sharing our exciting news and media this January. We have a lot of things that are ready to go and are excited to release, but we have run into some unforeseen complications that will force us to delay just a BIT longer. We know you’re anxious to see what we’ve been working on, and you can be sure we wouldn’t make you wait any longer unless we HAD to. We want to share this stuff too, you know. :D

We don’t want to give you all another time estimate and end up missing it, so we’re going to have to say “soon” again for the time being. But this isn’t “2 years” soon or “6 months” soon. This is SOON in all caps.

Thanks again, everyone. Hang in there, we’re close.

So what is the definitive way to play the base game + episodes, since now we have 25th anniversary edition?

I'm still waiting for the Half-Life 2 Remastered Collection, I'm hoping that it'll be the definitive way to play Half-Life 2 and it's episodes.
