From there, make sure the 'Associate with .gsba files' option is ticked under the File Associations section of General Settings.
NOTE: File associations require administrative rights, so make sure to run GSM with said rights for the above to work!
File associations are OK, I can see GSM icons on backup files and they do open GSM when I double click them, but this happens:

Reset it and it should function (it should be using the /open commandline, which it doesn't appear to be doing so there).
Alternatively you can do it manually via regedit.exe, which I could guide you through if needed.
Open Notepad and copy the following into it:
Lastly, just double-click this file and allow it to 'merge' into your Registry.
It'll delete the two registry keys specified, which are specific to the '.gsba' file extension when setting the association via "Open With".
