GunZ 2 PUG Group

This is a public PUG Group for the game GunZ 2. Our goal is to hold pugs/mixes in Practice Game format. GunZ 2's matchmaking system has features that are admittedly inconvenient for players who are looking to get better at the game in an efficient way. Such issues are:

Pre-game Disconnections: Players often get dropped from a game before it starts, and in most cases they will be unable to rejoin after restarting their game. With pugs, players can simply rejoin the lobby if it ever happens.

Host advantage: This is one of the most biggest issues, no explanation needed. With pugs, we have host-swapping rules in place to mitigate host advantage.

Queue Times: Waiting 3-5 mins for every game only for one or both of the above issues to occur can ruin a player's experience, especially in team settings. With Pugs, queue times are shortened and anyone can continuously play with the same opponents.

Uneven Fights: In the event that everything goes smoothly, due to the matchmaking system, the likelyhood of playing against new players is high. Playing against newbies can be an unpleasant experience for both veteran and new players, even more for the latter.


The group was created on March 25, 2014 in order to alleviate issues with the matchmaking system by hosting Ranked Mixes. Around the time the group was created, we held our games with a small but active group of players. We played ranked games as often as we could, but due to a an ELO exploit, our mixes became less enjoyable and we eventually had to ramp down our activities.

On top of that issue, we couldn't consistently hold and plan mixes due to the absence of lobbies, along with our dwindling numbers. A month later, the group became inactive.

However, thanks to MAIET's implementation of Practice & Spectator Mode, we hope to get the group started once again.

Currently, the group welcomes any active GunZ 2 player in the North American Region. If you are not from North America, you are still welcome to join! With enough time and members, we hope to become a group that promotes skill diversity across all levels and regions.
