Join point 1: prologue

The year is 2621, humanity has reached beyond the borders of Sol, and have started colonising the planets. In the year 2374 the interspace drive was invented, allowing spaceships to travel 10 times the speed of light. They have discovered many things during their exploration of the many systems, including new life, technology and so much more. Humans have made a home of everything they can reach and are still spreading themselves across the galaxy, but you can only go so far without finding something bad...
On the edge explored space is a research vessel called: Atlantis. She is a state of the art vessel with a job of finding the unexplainable. Atlantis is the biggest research ship ever built being 3 miles long and a crew of 5,000. She has limited arms and many secrets. In the ship's portside cryo bay, the third tech crew were fixing the cryo-bay cooler chamber from the inside. Just then, an unknown power surge shot across all decks and systems causing the reactor to fail, most primary systems and the cryo-bay. The third tech crew were instantly frozen in the chamber and would remain there until the reactor restarted.
