The elite Spartiate Guard is personally handpicked by the Autokrateia herself. Don't confuse them with the other Guard unit, the Sacred Band. From a young age, a select few would call themselves Spartiates were trained for battle and put through grueling challenges intended to craft them into fearless warriors. In battle, they had the reputation of being the best soldiers in Greece. A tough elite guard, they stand at 8,000 for the tradition of the number of Spartan citizens during the classical age. The Spartiate Guard are very closely linked to their counterpart, the Krypteia, the elite secret warriors willing to dispatch the enemies to the fledgling Greek nation. Discipline is always a virtue.
