Fans of Fantasy Grounds recommend similar games to enjoy on Steam

We are first and foremost, fans of Fantasy Grounds. I am one of the owners and developers. Needless to say, we recommend Fantasy Grounds to the uninitiated whenever we can. We are also fans of great games in general and this list will focus attention on those other games as well as FG.

Games that appeal to FG fans are most likely RPG in nature, turn-based, tactical or heavily story-driven games. The group is open, though, so please make your own suggestions. Maybe I'm way off. Maybe I've missed out on some great games that I should be playing.

Since we've crossed 300 members, we are conducting another drawing for a free license of FG DLC of your choice. The winner for this round goes to the member elfisko.

We would really like to continue to grow the number of members, but also the number of followers to our game recommendations. Please consider going to the Curator tab and choosing Follow if you haven't already. This will raise our visibility on games that we recommend and hopefully encourage more people to try out Fantasy Grounds as well.

elfisko, please look for a Friend invite from SmiteWorks (or ddavisonky) to arrange for your reward.

Port 1802 needs to be routed from your router to the computer hosting Fantasy Grounds games if you are the DM. Any traffic sent to that port will be sent to that port on your computer. If FG isn't running and listening, your computer will just ignore that traffic. If FG is running, it will attempt to interpret that data. Routing this single port is very safe, but is also only necessary for the DM and not for the players.

Can fantasy ground connct THROUGH steam or does it need PORT 1804 OPEN ON ALL USERS and CONNETORS , I play D&D and run encounters/expiditions and players are having a hard time getting acces to their routers and peneing ports and are nervous and many reasons. Was hoping if i got the STEAM version the connections woudl be easier for them. Thank you all!!

There are many games on Steam that will appeal to fans of Fantasy Grounds. You might like to know that Fantasy Grounds will be the center of attraction at the gamer weekend fun from the Society of Extraordinary Gamers!. We are less than a month away from The Gamer Geekend! We currently have 28 events scheduled on the convention calendar, and all are available for player/attendee registration.

Games are being run in Fantasy Grounds, as well as Roll20 with varying systems, such as Savage Worlds, D&D 5E, and Pathfinder. Board and Wargaming through Vassel is also being represented. Maybe you can try out a game type or VTT you haven't played in before. However the star attraction is Fantasy Grounds customised to perfection like you have never seen before.

The Gamer Geekend will run from September 17th through the 20th. You can check out the details and register at http://gamergeekend.org/
