Diamondback Security is a "private security organization" and private military corporation, based in the Skyllian Verge, operating in the Terminus System and throughout the galaxy. Diamondback mercenaries have a reputation for being both discreet and ruthlessly efficient, and as such charge a sizable fee. They were founded by Synope after she and the leader of CAT6 agreed to merge their former groups, the Blue Suns and CAT6 together to fight a common enemy, Eclipse, who soon was assimilated. After some time, Synope and her co-founder began to butt heads, resulting in the expulsion and later death of her co-founder. Now having sole control, Synope began to lead her new band of mercenaries on a campaign of terror across Citadel controlled space. With state of the art training and ex-military personnel, Diamondback Security Corporation is given superior weapons and armor, meaning their equipment is usually produced by a variety of manufacturers (unlike military forces, which prefer to select equipment from a single company).

Because they have to be efficient and capable, the job range for Diamondback Security vary from being a "private security organization", to conducting highly dangerous raids, to its own private army and even more classified ops. The number of personnel is classified but in high numbers. The mercenaries are known to name their squads after sharp objects and poisonous snakes. Examples include Viper and Mamba squads, Rapier and Dagger squads, and two elite contingent among them is known as Cobra Squad and Razor squad.

Diamondback mercenaries often have a tattoo of a serpent somewhere on their body. During high-risk jobs, the tattoo would be removed with an acid wash to prevent them being identified, then reapplied once the job was finished.

Diamondback Security consist mostly of batarians, turians, and humans, but have employed asari and salarians into their ranks, and also employ YMIR, FENRIS, LOKI mechs, even an ATLAS mech.
