The state of Caelus

It's been a really long time since this page was last updated, hasn't it? Oh well, nothing i can really do much about, as other things have taken away far too much time from me than i ever really expected.

Right, so, recently, Starfarer (or StarSector, as it is now) 0.6a has been released, with a 0.6.1a patch coming up soon. With that in mind, i'd like to share some details on the future of caelus.


So, to start with, there really hasn't been much... progress. At all, really. It's been mostly on hiatus with me, and i honestly don't expect too much progress aside from perhaps a compability update to 0.6.1, as really getting busy right now. I hope i can assign a more active team lead to Caelus in order to keep it rolling, but that's a stretch.

And for some brighter news. Caelus should still be working, even with the latest patch (unless something horribly broke, which would be unfortunate), even before we release the compability patch.

I guess that would be all for this announcement. Might be posting her emore often, so stay tuned!

So, let me inform you a bit on our current progress we're having:

The Tholian directive is starting to come together and proceed in the way i'd like to have that faction in, it's starting to shape up nicely and the way i want it to shape up, taking the characteristics of a true High Tech faction as you'd expect it to be... and a little more.
The CDF and Sidus Dim are going to get their character ironed out a bit, to better represent what they really are - two megacorporations wying for more power, leaving wars in their wake.

The infection is also going to get itself ironed out a bit, but it will still remain as mysterious as possible, to better enhance the experience in the mod and the uniqueness, to give you that sense of "Wow, this is something innovative and very new" feeling.

That's it for this update, more will be due for the next.

Hey guys!! Sorry for the entire lack of updates on the steam page, I've kinda been busy with a ton of stuff that cropped out of seemingly nowhere. But now that I've dealt with that, i think my first order of the day for caelus is a quick weapons rebalance. ;)

Well, mainly because we've been busy. I currently (personally) have 3 mods i need to continue updating, and it does get hectic. I'll launch a new patch for caelus tomorrow, which'll fix most of the shortcomings - again. :)

Hi everyone. I'm a newcomer to Starfarer but I am obsessed with it! Some things I noticed about your mod in terms of balance: i) the Ferrarians have extremely cheap ships (something like 30 credits for DEs and only a few hundred for capitals). ii) I think the starting ship feels a little bit overpowered compared to other freighters, making the start very easy. Anyways excellent work on the mod; looking forward to more!
