Why these tags specifically?
From what I have found, this is the least used tags.
All Battle Bots will be designated with those 3 tags regardless of characteristics of the bot.
This is to make it easier for users to navigate to standardised Battle Bots.

Balancing of different Battle Bots.

Material Should always be steel. Higher density = Higher strength. Steel is a good middle ground.
Glitches are not allowed.
Flame Weapons are not allowed.
Explosives are not allowed.
Thrusters are not allowed.
Guns are not allowed.
Spinning weapons are free to spin at any speed the Creator wishes.
It is HEAVILY encouraged that Creators use the Battle Bot "frames" I have created.
Of course no battle bot should be discouraged from competition because it isn't using a standard frame.

IMPORTANT
If I have not mentioned something it is free for interpretation. But please use common sense when making Battle Bots.
As a Creator I strive so that every person can have fun. And I hope you do too.
Making an UN-fair Battle Bot is extremely Discouraged.
