Just an observation: 8 out of the 10 objectives can be achieved without spending a penny, and I had already sent a friend a gift some months back. I did buy Zombie Driver for $2.50 to round it out, but that doesn't exactly make the contest a cash cow.

The thing here isn't that they are making money. It's that they are exploiting gamers by attempting to coerce them into buying games for a minuscule chance at a reward they can remove from you at any time.
