decompiled dota models missing limbs
I tried decompiling Kunkka the other day and importing him in to blender. All it imported was his head and torso. Am i doing something wrong?

You probably didn't do anything wrong. If I recall correctly, Valve started breaking up heroes into different parts. You may have to decompile each part individually to get the whole model, but in all honesty, you should just use the Kunkka model in the workshop (unless of course you are having issues with it).

I do just use the workshop version up to now. Problem is the workshop version also is missing limbs and i thought the decompiled version wouldn't be. For positioning of my items i use the valve supplied models but i was hoping to get some shots of the relevant hero complete with my item in blender for some renders as some other people seem to have managed to do in their images for their items on the workshop.
Anyone?
I'm not sure what to say other than urging you to decompile other parts of kunkka... It's perfectly possible that Valve put his arms and other parts of his body in different parts of the vpk files. You're gonna have to decompile each piece of his body and import them in one at a time.
i think i got it. i was able to load the parts seperately, rather than from one file.
Yup, that's exactly it.
Apply the textures to it though, that's something that either isn't working or i'm doing wrong. I can't take renders of a gray Kunkka :(

Sometimes blender will move the UVs out of the UV coordinate space for imported .smd files. Check to make sure the UVs of the decompiled models are in the correct position. If they aren't move them up.
Oh right, thanks. I'll check this out tomorrow.
