UV Problems, cannot figure out of to get mutiple UV's on one area.
Hi,

I've been working on my dagger model for a couple of days, very new at this and watched the tutorial. I'm decently happy with my model as is but I have a few questions.

1. Trying to keep my model to the limited amount of triangles but I don't know where I can find the information about how many triangles are in my model. I do see faces on the top of the screen though so I tried to limit myself with that.

2. I'm trying to add UV to my image following the guide but when I select other parts of the model the previous UVs disappear. I did parent all the models together.

I'm also getting an wierd effect on unwraping, I already seamed the image down the middle.

1. Go into edit mode, select everything, press ctrl+t to triangulate the model. At the top you will see the amount of faces (tris). Press ctrl+z to undo the triangulation.

2. When you select different parts of the model, the UVs for the selected portions will appear. You can only see all the UVs at once when your entire model is selected (in edit mode). If you haven't already, join together your different objects into one model: From object mode, select the various objects and press ctrl+j.

3. UV unwrapping something like that will require more than seams. Try projection unwrapping.[dl.dropbox.com] You can select various faces from one side, project them onto the UV coordinate space, and continue for the faces on the backside of the model. This technique is useful for models that are bilaterally symmetric that would otherwise be hard to unwrap.
