There have been recent changes to the Blender API which broke the script. Please use Blender 2.79 for now.

If the source model didn't have bones then you'll have to make your own animations. If it did, then you need to join the skeletons together and merge the differences.

This doesn't have much to do with the importer or exporter now, so you'd do much better to look online for general help with Blender than ask here.

Yes. You'll need to merge all of the bones and animations together as there's only one skeleton for the whole model.

There's an unfortunate legacy issue in Source where all SMDs are rotated like this by default. Animations are rotated 90 degrees in the other direction to cancel out the problem.

Judging from what you were seeing in your other thread, it seems to me that you are definitely compiling meshes against animations that don't agree with them.

It looks like you don't have any animation keyframes for the shawl. Did you add it to the model then recompile it with the original animations?

It does look an awful lot like you've made your model in the wrong pose. Try applying the rest position (arms down[i.imgur.com]) to your mesh.

You'll need to export both the reference mesh and the animation from Blender to guarantee that they line up.

It looks like your reference mesh pose doesn't agree with the animation's starting pose. Did you export this crowbar animation yourself or did you acquire it from elsewhere?

I've fixed it and uploaded a new version for Blender 2.79[steamreview.org]. To avoid confusion I won't mention this on the site until Blender 2.80 is out.
