What it is

Heroes of Newerth is a FANTASTIC game based on the extremely popular Warcraft 3 custom map called Defense of the Ancients (DotA.) DotA became a very popular map and eventually tournaments have been hosted worldwide! DotA to this day is still being actively played by the Warcraft 3 community. Heroes of Newerth is considered to be the most DotA-like of DotA-like games created to date. It employs many of the same heroes found in DotA with new names and flashy new animations. Like DotA itself, HoN has a dark and ominous feel to it which is contrary to another DotA-like game known as League of Legends (LoL.)

HoN Features:
- Extremely simple in-game shop interface (much better than that of DotA.)
- Announcers. They announce double kills, first blood, etc.
- Paid-for content allowing you to purchase your favourite heroes for infinite use.
- Very excellent stat-tracking system which includes both win/loss and kill/death ratios.

- Extremely user-friendly interfaces making the game very playable.
- Several different maps which are by no means deviations of the original DotA style.
- An advanced lag management system that prevents other players from experiencing another player's connection problems in the form of lag.
- Game reconnection system that allows you to disconnect from the game for a few minutes and RECONNECT! Connection losses or crashes are no problem! Simply boot the game back up and reconnect to the game you were just in.
- Friends list and clan support!
