SOMETHING EVIL IS COMING

Sol shines no more. A rotting world, consumed by darkness. I hold my torch with a trembling hand, with flesh like leather and dried blood beneath my elongated fingernails. I stare into the endless dark nothingness ahead, and yet I feel it stare back into me. My body is scarred and weathered, corrupt and flawed. I remember nothing, no name nor reason to live, like a terrified child alone in the woods. I pity myself as I lick and lap at the tears of Jesus to fill my dry throat, why is my life pain when I have done only what God asked?

God gave me eyes to see, and I witnessed an unbirthed fetus sliding along a conveyer belt to be destroyed by rusted cogs and gears. God gave me ears to listen and I heard my mother's screams of terror as she was thrown into the pit of maggots below that feasted on flesh for the first time. God gave me nostrils to smell and I took in the smoke of a thousand scorched bodies, boiling innards releasing gas that bubbled and popped. God gave me hands to feel and I felt my mother's twitching back as I pushed her into the flesh eating maggot pit below.

I remember now. I'm why Jesus wept.


Skylight has fallen, and with it any last hope of redemption for the followers of Hard-Glaze. The death of Pope Adyssa the Great shook the Church of Light asunder, and the surviving cardinals squabble and fight over his titles. Now, a new pretender reigns in the Tower of Light, promising shelter for his subjects and absolute destruction for enemies of the faith. Like the Town of Light before it, many pilgrims from across the world travel to the Tower of Light in search of what little security it has to offer.

The Gores, devout followers of the Faith of the Family and worshippers of the Great Tree, now seek to deal the killing blow against the believers of the Glaze once and for all. New-found technology scavenged from the burning ruins of Skylight, as well as their infamous cruelty gives them a clear advantage over the Glazics in this regard.

The Satanists have been exiled to Hell, only able to return to the overworld for short spans of time, lest their souls be lost in transition. Despite their precarious situation, their old goals remain: to depose the Undergod and restore the true lord of the underworld to His throne.

The Undergod and his Begotten thralls have yet to be seen since the fall of Skylight, but many rest assured that the reckoning incarnate will soon return. Other mysterious entities are also at work in this forsaken land. Many of these are known only in rumors, but the dangers they present are very real.

Even all the cruelties of these factions still yet pale in comparison to the tortuous world they inhabit: where disease, malnourishment, and squalor run rampant. Life is hell in this forsaken landscape for all except the Hierarchy, who live in absolute luxury as the fanatical Gatekeepers follow their every order.
