The 3rd expansion pack "Turning Tides" introduce players to the Zeebrugge Raid, the Gallipoli offensive and amphibious warfare.

Amphibious warfare meaning a combination of land and sea battles. Both land and sea vehicles are bound to be a major focus for battle and there are quite a few possibilities for vehicular additions.

U-Boats: One of the most infamous forms of transportation during World War 1 was indeed the U-boat. The Zeebrugge Raid was an attempt to enclose the port of Bruges-Zeebrugge, a German base housing U-boats and German equipment.

It is possible we could see combat taking place onboard some of the ships included in the battles of Gallipoli and the Zeebrugge Raid including the HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Agamemmon, and the HMS Inflexible.

The Gallipoli Offensive is stated to have a major role in the Turning Tides DLC meaning players will most likely jump into battle fighting as the British Empire or the Ottoman Empire. Any focus on the Gallipoli Offensive will most definitely include heavy emphasis on the naval forces used in battle. This includes the use of seaplanes such as the HSM Ark royal and other artillery units being deployed from the sea. The vehicular opportunities are far to immense to run through them all, but expect to see many infamous ships and artillery units being portrayed in the Turning Tides DLC.

DICE also stated that the Zeebrugge Raid would play a big role in the Turning Tides DLC, meaning players will likely see combat as the German Empire and the United Kingdom. The Zeebrugge Raid was an attempt by the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy to enclose the port of Bruges-Zeebrugge by sinking ships in the entrance. Airborn combat was big factor in the initial bombardment of Zeebrugge so expect to see a lot of planes available for use on the Zeebrugge inspired maps.

Three vessels led the attack to initial the Zeebrugge Raid, the Vindictive, Daffodil, and Iris II led the path followed by submarines ready to entrap the opposing German forces within the Bruges-Zeebrugge port. It wouldn’t come as a surprise to see this initial advanced as an opportunity for players to re-live one of the most infamous points of World War 1.
