Dearest Panners,

THIS UPDATE INCLUDES A RULE CHANGE (AND THEREFORE MANDATORY CONFIG UPDATE) (sorry*!). PLEASE READ THE WHOLE OF THIS EMAIL, BUT POINTS 3) AND 4) DETAIL THE CHANGES IN RULES.

After lots and lots of incidents where various admins were forced to furiously type at people, it's come to our attention that we'd never specified an official stance on a number of issues. but it's still very relevant, so please read.

1) Acceptable wait times. It is only acceptable to keep your opponents waiting for 45 minutes after an agreed start time for a match. If, after the 45 minutes, the opposing team has an incomplete (4 or less) team, or refuses to ready up, a default loss will be called.

Evidence of this must be provided (eg chatlogs, screenshots) in the default win match result submission, the evidence will be reviewed by an admin or helper if the losing team deem it necessary.

2) Acceptable pings. The acceptable ping for any player is 150 milliseconds. If a player's ping shows a higher value, you are allowed to request the other team to find a sub/merc for that one player. We are aware of issues regarding servers located far from the visitor team's regions (for instance, Chilean servers). If many players on one team show a ping over 150 milliseconds and the other team shows reasonable ping, the team with the high ping is allowed to request another server be used for the match.

3) Timelimits on cp maps. Unintentionally, a line was included in the rsp_standard.cfg which enforced a timelimit of 15 minutes to control point games. This line was unintentional, and a compulsory config update has been rolled out to the website (the new configs can be found at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45499615/rsp_cfg_whitelist_v5.zip ). We realise we've been quite indecisive recently about configs, and we promise that this release has been fully tested and revised so that any further changes should not be necessary. If we do have to roll out another update, blame pastry. All his fault.

4) Rule change. From this round forward it's first to four rounds or after the time limit of 40 minutes is reached. If a draw is reached after 40 minutes of panning, there will be a sudden-death pan-only round (no respawns or resupply lockers). Download and add to your server the latest configs (version 1.5). Pastry has also edited the whitelists such that the hi-five and several new update items (all of them hats and miscs) are now whitelisted. Item sets are now allowed. Have fun with that (even though it doesn't really change anything).
