Custom Maps - South Africa

This group was made for South African players of Alien Swarm in the effort to play custom maps together easily, we would like one SA player with >4mbps line to host.
We tend to be online during the weekend, specially on Saturdays

=====The following are instructions on how to get custom maps=====

Download steps:

There are 2 websites so far that I know of that provide new custom maps

(I suggest people to go to the websites and download all the maps if possible, or at least download the latest few. For example, if you could download the 1st 2 pages of maps on both websites that will be great. (so we dont have to wait for people to download)). The latest maps are all compressed into .rar or .zip

Installation Steps:

1. Download the map
2. Extract the .vpk file from the .rar/.zip
3. Double click the extracted file and it will install the map.
4. Launch game and create or join a server using your new custom map.

=====For events=====
The officers in the group will host events, but members can too. Please specify what time and what mission you will play, and the download link for the people that dont have that particular map.

Example Format:

Title: Custom Maps Saturday @ 21h00
Maps: Super Mario world1-1 (can have more than one map)
Ground Zero
Dead Temple
Links: www.xxxx.yyy/zzzzz

People that will attend the event RSVP by adding a comment saying "I'm in."

=====Members=====
Please invite SA players only, preferably very good players, or potentially good players.

=====Player of the week=====

Every week one person will be awarded the "Player of the week" trophy which will be determined by overall playtime and dedication.

If you want to play alien swarm as a first person shooter in offline practise(I think it could work if you host a game too, but you wont get experience points...)
Go to keyboard and mouse options and check the box which says editor's console or something like that.
Then in game open the console with the ' ` ' key(under Esc) and type the following commands:
sv_cheats 1
firstperson
asw_hide_marine
asw_controls 0
asw_debug_marine_aim 1
