Server Events!

Starting from the weekend of the 12th of December, we have implemented all new Server Events! Mostly gladiator fights in our arena on top of the volcano, the winners of such events are rewarded with various prizes, including: +Levels, 120 Perfect Tame Dinos, Rare gear, and more!
Each event will vary from the previous, with dino participation playing an essential role!

IMPORTANT NEWS: Server payment

G'day to you all,

Most of you are aware of this, but for those that aren't, the server is not free! Ming has been dropping £18 a month keeping the server running, but it's time for a serious topic to be addressed:

Ming and I just aren't on often enough for this to be worth it!

Now, Ming's been generous enough to have paid for it so far, even though he's practically moved on from ARK. However, if we're being realistic, it is unfair for him to keep paying for a server that he no longer visits that often. Thus, the question arises:

Who would be willing to take over the payment of the server?

You guys can split the payment if more than one of you are willing to pay. How you guys do this is up to you (e.g. pay each other in real life if you know each other, or with bank transfers if you're a functioning adult and know how to use all that adult stuff).

The advantages are plenty:
  • We could have a new admin/new admins that will be able to respond quicker to server issues and help people out when I am not available. Obviously, would have to be someone we trust completely and not someone who'd abuse those powers.
  • We could add mods!! Ming always did the mod work for the server, because they never worked for me. If we had new admins, they could take over mod work and, if we find stable, good quality mods, add them to the server!
  • We'd be good people and free Ming from this burden (think Aladdin and the Genie).

So, this is a call out to all old, current and new server members. Please comment down below or contact me directly so that we could start talking about transferring payment to someone else :)

However, if no one steps forward, we will honestly have to consider taking the server down. As sad as that is, we hope you guys understand that it's not financially fair for someone to have to invest in something for nothing.

Hear ye, hear ye!

So everyone so far has voted "No!" with regards to whether or not we should keep ORP or not and after realising that they have disabled Tribe Alliances on servers using ORP, we have decided that it may indeed be the best choice to remove ORP.

We remain adamant on stressing server rules, though. So please keep in mind that griefing, passive dino kililng and unnecessary structure destruction is frowned upon and in extreme cases will be punished.

Will remove ORP when less players are online, sometime this evening most likely :)

Well I've revoked Link's acces to the Rising Together server and we'll see if that fixes our "rollback issues". If it does then, hmm, interesting. This kind of means we are still looking for someone to take over the payment for the server (or split it between some people). Drop me a message if you're interested.

Looking at stats, we were actually pretty fine on player count, server ranking and so on up until about 2 days ago. Now, I don't really care about server rank and you guys are free to play wherever you want. However, if there is something you want to say to improve this server currently, feel free to suggest.
