Fallout 4 - Steam

So Bethesda recently announced Fallout 4 for PC PS4 & Xbox One.

Looks like last gen consoles will not be getting the game at all. Some may think that sucks, but to me its welcome news! With Bethesda moving on to next gen console & PC only with Fallout 4 I’m very sure that’s good news for PC users with multicore systems.

It seems that most new games being developed for next gen consoles & PC feature multithreaded engines. If you’re a quad core owner this means you can make use of your CPU and won’t be held back by single core performance as the load will be spread over multiple threads, possibly up to 8 threads in reflection of the 8 core Jaguar/Kabini based APU featured in the PS4.

Fingers crossed that Fallout 4 also includes the integration of Nexus Mod Manger, same as previous Fallout titles. Some of the texture mods for Fallout New Vegas are pretty impressive and always included in my own game installation as they make the game environment look much richer.

Hopefully we can still make changes to the game .ini to mod the amount of cells and grass density etc, again makes Fallout New Vegas look much more realistic.

Only bad thing I can see so far is the Steam price! Not a chance in hell will I be paying £49.99 for my copy, if you are thinking of buying FO4 then I would recommend you pre-order from Amazon as the current pre-order price is £37.85 and I would say it is likely to be a Steam redeemable code as this has been stated on Greenmangaming and is usually the case with Bethesda games on PC anyway.

So I read there is to be no multiplayer, but I am cool with that, in fact I prefer this as this will likely mean more effort will be put into the story as opposed to if they included a multiplayer/co-op aspect to the game.

Anyway, can’t wait for it ;)
